VERTICAL TASTING – Heron’s Flight

Amphora Sangiovese – Vertical Tasting: 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2019

• Our 500L Amphora was made for us in Tuscany in 2014. We brought it out that year and made our first wine using it in 2015.
• When we released the 2015 wine, Michael Cooper in the Listener wrote an article about it. I asked him how he thought it would age. His answer was that, not having any experience with these wines, he honestly didn’t know, but that the structure of the wine lent itself to a long life.
• The tasting will be an informal/formal tasting. I’m setting 90 minutes for it and we’ll all work our way through each vintage together at the same time. Because I keep very little of these wines in my own cellar, this tasting will be as much for my interest as for yours.
