The Beatles Tribute Show
1151 Leigh Road, Matakana
Friday 18 September – see Abbey Road, New Zealand’s longest-running Beatles tribute since 2008 live at The Stables Matakana. Full costume, full catalogue and decades on stage.
Since 2008, Abbey Road have been New Zealand’s most enduring tribute to The Beatles, recreating the Fab Four’s sound and energy live, in full costume. Named after the band’s final studio album, the show spans The Beatles’ entire catalogue — from the early hits through to the White Album and beyond, with Come Together, Hey Jude, Let It Be and everything in between.
Fronted by John Clarke (George), Don McCartney (Paul), Nigel Sanderson (Ringo) and Tim Armstrong (John), this is a full, faithful set from a band with the road miles to back it up. Abbey Road has performed on some of the country’s biggest stages, including Blues, Brews & BBQs, the World Rowing Championships, SkyCity Casino, Mills Reef Winery and RNZAF Base Ohakea, and shared a stage in 2014 with Howie Casey, saxophonist for Paul McCartney’s band Wings.
